3. Don't get caught out by the car park If you are visiting by car, note that you must park on the mainland and take a (free) shuttle across the bridge. There is a separate car park for those staying overnight so make sure you obtain the access code from your hotel beforehand.

Just follow the normal rules of not leaving anything valuable (including a portable satnav and its mounting) on display and you shouldn't have any problems.

Head to the mountain first thing in the morning, go all the way to the top and visit the abbey. The gardens of the abbey of Mont Saint Michel. After the visit to the monastery you can choose to visit the Parish Church and/ or one of the museums on the mountain or check out the gift shops on the main street - Grande Rue.

Parking area of the Mont Saint-Michel. By car: From Paris, take the A13 freeway (towards Caen) or the A11 freeway (towards Le Mans). From Nantes by A84 (direction Rennes). A parking lot, accessible to cars, motorcycles and camping-cars is located right next to the Tourist Information Center. A portion is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
